Six Philosophers and a Farmer

...In an isolated region of the North Atlantic, quite secluded from civilization lies a comparatively desolate and somewhat barren island called Fleet. On this remote island live six perspicacious, ascetic philosophers and a rather morose, lugubrious-sounding farmer. Life for the seven Fleet inhabitants seems tranquilly, if not monotonously predictable and they like it that way. The six pansophical philosophers sit on separate rocks located on the periphery of the island wiling away their days in pensive , excogitative contemplation of all that is around them. Meanwhile, the ubiquitous farmer sedulously busies himself every day and part of every night with the pragmatic chores which just about barely allows for the salurbrious survival of them all.

...Exactly why these seven people came to dwell on Fleet is a cryptic mystery about which they, if ever asked, would most likelyh remain virtually taciturn. Being isolated as they are chances of such a query being posed is somewhat improbable.
