I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.
I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT.

In l972 I visited East Africa.

When my husband and I were in Uganda, a country in East Africa,
we visited the animal  free land  which is also called an "animal reserve."

The animal reserve that we visited is  now called Ruenzori National
Park.

Our driver, James, drove us around  to see the animals

We were looking at an elephant, when James told us a wonderful
story about a lion and several other animals. James said that people
in Uganda love this story.

I decided to write the story down, using my own ideas.
The story you will read is  Suzie-Jean's version of this old tale.

I thought that I would put the words for the animals in Swahili.

Swahili  is an East African language.
