Silly Uncle Ulster

A Poem with the Short U Sound

Silly Uncle Ulster
Sits underneath a tree.
He thinks that he is ugly,
And hiding out from me.

Oh please get up, dear Uncle.
From underneath that tree.
You aren’t ugly, not at all,
Most handsome as could be.

I’ll give you an umbrella, and
A lovely purple cane.
Then both of us  will walk together,
Under the pouring rain.
