Strategy Against Gloom and Doom

Each day when I turn on the news;
 As presented  it  gives me the blues.
I hear about life, lots of trouble and strife,
All the warnings of don’ts and of do’s.

The flu season’s already back,
The terrorists set to attack,
The water is rising, I’m not minimizing,
I think that I'm ready to crack.

But a melt-down of spirit is bad,
And I 'm not in the mood to be  sad.
Away, get away, but to where? I might say!
There 's no place that 's safe,
to be had.

But hold on--- I   think that I know,
Of a very good place I can go.
It is peaceful and charming, and not so alarming,
Where everything's nightly aglow.
