CELEBRATING CHANUKAH

Every year my family celebrates Chanukah
with this table. We hang the ornaments that
I make around the table. We light the
Chanukeah (Chanukah Menorahs).
The presents go under the table.

This is how the table looks on the
8th night of Chanukah.

Chanukah is sometimes called the festival
of lights. It commemorates a special
event in Jewish history.

We like to guess which candle will
burn out first. Sometimes the
candles go out before they melt.
Can you find the candles that went
out?

That is not what happened long ago.
We celebrate the miracle of
the lights NOT going out.

Would you like to read about it?

When Andy and Ilana were in Kindergarten
at Kinneret Day School, they made
a Chanukeah out of clay. We used
them every year.
The round one on the left, in front
was made by Andy.

The one below was made by Ilana.

Ilana and Andy also liked to make
ornaments out of play dough .
Sometimes they used straws and
alumninum foil.

In 2012, I set up, as usual for the last night of Chanukah. Andy insisted on following tradition exactly, so we lit two candles for the second night of Chanukah. Andy's wife, our beautiful Chloe has now
joined us. This is her second year bringing us such joy.

As you can see, one of the candles turn a bow!!
