Then David noted, “In order to be sure about  which tree  stands before the setting sun, it seems to me, the tree has to be somewhat tall, or at least of a  size that is not too small.”

“I guess we first have to look for a tree that is almost 200 years old,” Beth suggested. ” Hopefully,  it is still standing.”

“Come on,  let’s ask Mr. Lomber,” said Aaron, leading the way.

“Ask him what?” Carrie called to him.

“We’ll ask him if there is  a  tree around 'The Treasured Inn' that is  almost 200 years old."

The  four children ran into the Inn to find Mr. Lomber.

CHAPTER  6:
WHICH TREE?

Mr. Lomber was not at the desk when Carrie , David,Aaron and Beth entered the lobby of the Inn. But Mrs. Lomber was there, and was most willing to talk about the legend and the poem with the children.

“Yes, many people concluded that if the pirate  created a treasure hunt the starting point would be the tree that he planted so long ago. The legend does say that he did plant a tree. The problem is, we have many old trees and it is hard to find the right one. Most people  have thought it  is the oak tree  at the side of the Inn because it is the tallest. But that tree is on the east side of the house, and the sun never sets behind it.
