“You want Mother Goose poems?  In a million years  I never would think that you would be interested in those  nursery rhymes.”

David explained the reason they wanted the book.

“We told you about the little poem thought to be left by Captain Patch.  The poem says that ‘ the answers lie in Mother Goose.' "

“All right, “ Anna said  smiling.
“But first ask Mr. Lomber if there is a book store in  town.”

David was off in a flash and was back quickly.

“Yes, there is  a small bookstore,”  he said. "It is in the center of town, and  is called “The First Edition.”

Anna asked Mrs. Lomber to drive  with them  into Sea-View, which was the closest  village to 'The Treasured Inn.'

It was a small town with one main street. There were some small shops selling clothing, and some  with souvenir items,  a few restaurants,  a pet store, and the book store, 'The First Edition.'

The owner of the bookstore was a kind woman named Mrs. Britson.  Carrie asked for  a book with Mother Goose rhymes.

“Ah,” said Mrs. Britson. “ I have a feeling you are trying to  solve the pirate mystery.  So many have tried before you.”

“Do you think there is anything to the legend?” Anna Foster asked the store owner.

“I used to think so. Now I’m not so sure.  Perhaps it was made up by someone years back as a prank. But you never know. There is no harm in trying.”
