DOES DREAMING REALLY COUNT?
(pictures of the children pending letters of parental consent)
This second grade child dreams of being a singer.
The second grade social studies curriculum includes a study
  of community helpers and professions.
DOES DREAMING REALLY COUNT? is a rhyming story about
  many different jobs:
teacher, circus star , train engineer, builder,
entertainer, doctor, pilot, government worker, tailor,
carpenter, bus driver, police officer, fire fighter
  and others
The story is about a young child thinking ahead, and
dreaming of the job he or she would want to do in the
    future.
This child illustrates the job of a construction worker.
In the story, a very important question is asked:
Does dreaming really count?
"I think so much, and ask myself,
At night when I'm in bed.
DoeDoes dreaming really count for me,
  And help me get ahead?

The answer is YES! DREAMING AND PLANNING
  ARE IMPORTANT.
"Of course, dreams count. They help form goals.
The plans to have in mind...
    You'll think of opportunities,
The jobs that you will find.
BUT
There are other important things to do to prepare for
  the future.
Children must go to school to get a good education.
"But dreams alone are not enough.
    It also should be said.
You must work hard, learn all you can,
  THAT'S HOW TO GET AHEAD.
These second grade children are reading and illustrating a DOES DREAMING REALLY COUNT
    activity book.
