Richard Rodgers (1902-1979) remains one of the most prolific and well-regarded Broadway composers. His two most successful collaborations were with lyricists Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein. Rodgers wrote over 900 songs including 43 musicals. A Broadway theater was dedicated to him in 1990.
