The Megillah is the Biblical Book of Esther and tells
the story of the Jewish Queen of Persia who foiled
Haman's plot to kill all the Jews. The Megillah or parts
of it are read aloud during Purim.

An expression--" the whole Megillah" refers
to telling a lot of details in a long story. Sometimes this
expression is used in a negative sense when someone doesn't want to know all the details: "don't give me the whole Megillah, " or " he gave me the whole Megillah"-implying frustration.
