When the foxys heard Farmer Watermelon's strong voice, they were scared. Yikes!! The four terrified foxys ran away into the woods.
Farmer Watermellon, being the kindly person that he is , told the whole fowl assemblage that he would take them home. And that is just what he did.
In the end, the little critters never told the king that the sky was falling...not that there was anything the king would or could do about it.
