“Ok, let’s dig,” Beth shouted jumping up from the blanket.

“Hold on there, David said.  “What does the next part of the poem say? Read it out Aaron so we all can hear it.”

Aaron read  the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th lines clearly.

You’ll figure out the very one,
      Before the August setting sun.

          Solutions  hide not far away,
          100 paces on, they say.

Let’s see, “ said David who was listening very carefully. ”The word 'FIGURE' probably refers to the fig tree that stands before the August setting sun.  But then it says that the solutions  are hidden ‘ NOT FAR AWAY, 100 paces on, they say. "

A ‘pace’  is  a ‘step’, right ?”  Beth just wanted to be sure of the meaning.

“Yes, that’s right, “ Aaron answered.

“Wow,” Carrie remarked, “ That means that the secret is not at the fig tree but l00 paces away from it. So we shouldn’t dig at the fig tree at all. We should start at the tree and from there , walk l00 paces.”

 “In which direction?” asked David.

“In which direction?” echoed Beth.

“The poem doesn’t actually say, does it?” said Aaron.
