NO PUNCTUATION WHATSOEVER:
THE UNIVERSAL BOOK OF THE GARRIDEBS
WHAT IS THIS LINK ABOUT?

It is becoming increasingly common for people to forget about the importance of punctuation in their writing. These very small little marks seem to be losing their significance in the minds of many .

So what--if I leave out a comma, a period, a quotation mark etc.!!! Who cares if I do not have capital letters where they belong!!!
So what about paragraphs!! They are not important anyway????!!!

Okay--try reading something that does not have these very vital little participants in what might otherwise be a comprehendible piece of writing! I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!

That is what this link is about. IT IS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PUNCTUATION.

A story is posted in two sections:the first is with punctuation, the second without.

WHERE DID THE IDEA OF THIS UNIVERSAL GENEOLOGY BOOK COME FROM?

Many years ago I received an advertisement for a book about my family history. My husband and children and I concluded that this was some sort of generic work into which our names were plugged. We did not buy the book, though I regret that now. It might have provided a laugh or two, or three or......

I wrote a somewhat similar letter with numerous changes , additions and subtractions . The result was an entirely new letter about ......

THE UNIVERSAL BOOK OF THE GARRIDEBS.

WHO ARE THE REAL GARRIDEBS?

In order to avoid hurting anyone's feelings, I sought out the least common sir name that I could find. I do not believe that any name could be as uncommon in reality as the name Garrideb (although it is well-known in fiction.) The Sherlock Holmes story, THE THREE GARRIDEBS was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as a short mystery story. Many Sherlockian scholars have searched for evidence of this name as belonging to a family, past or present. Though I am far from being a scholar in the Doyle mysteries, I still have spent innumerable hours in the same pursuit. The conclusion ,thus far, is that there are no Garridebs living on this planet, nor have there ever been any that can be traced. It is hard to believe that any name is totally fictitious. If anyone knows of anyone with this name, past or present, I certainly would want to know about it.
