Chapter 5- "I'LL TRY FOR THURSDAY"

"Yes, this blue fabric is thick and warm. It will be fine for me. But Timke, I must have the coat by Wednesday. Today is Monday. You have plenty of time."

" I'm sorry, Yosef, but I can't have the coat ready by Wednesday. I am behind in my other work as it is. But I will try for Thursday."

" But what if it is cold on Wednesday and I don't have my new warm coat.

Without a coat I'm sure to freeze,
My mazel's such, I'll cough and sneeze.
And have a headache in my kop
In bed I'll stay, and not get up.

"My wife and my children will all starve. I must have the coat by Wednesday. Look here,I don't want to be a nudnik, but, TIMKE, I AM BEGGING YOU."

"No, Yosef, it is impossible to have it by Wednesday," Timke repeated.
